AEVOS was formed through the convergence of two performance journeys, shaped by a shared language of pressure and execution. In these environments, pressure was constant and performance carried public consequence. Feedback was immediate, margins were small, and outcomes reflected preparation without insulation.


In this context, pressure was not something to be avoided or managed away. It functioned as a performance amplifier, strengthening well-conditioned behavioural architecture while exposing misaligned performance behaviours quickly and without ambiguity. This is what elite sport does. It reveals what holds under load and creates the conditions for psycho-behavioural optimisation through repeated exposure.


AEVOS represents the codification of those conditions. A disciplined approach to understanding how performance holds, adapts, and scales under pressure, translated into a method that others can now apply beyond sport.

James McLaughlin

Co-Founder, Former Professional Cyclist

James McLaughlin raced professionally on the UCI Europe Tour, representing Great Britain internationally and competing at three Commonwealth Games. His progression through the sport followed a conventional elite pathway, moving from national-level success as a junior, through France’s amateur system, and into the professional ranks with Madison Genesis in 2015. Across three seasons on the European circuit, he fulfilled leadership and support roles, particularly in mountainous terrain and multi-day stage races. Alongside team responsibilities, James also competed as a time trial specialist, recording a sixth-place finish at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. In 2020, his professional career was brought to an abrupt end following a road traffic accident. The injury marked a permanent departure from competitive sport and initiated a longer period of reflection on performance, pressure, and identity beyond just having a number on his back. That transition now informs his work at AEVOS.

He quickly shot through the ranks, representing Australia at two Junior World Cups, and becoming the youngest tight-head prop in the Western Force’s history to play Super Rugby at the young age of 20. He then moved to the UK and played for London Irish, earning 170 caps, finishing in the top-10 most games ever for the club, being in line to play many more before the club unfortunately went into administration. Along the way he played for Australia against England at Twickenham in November 2021. Recently he finished his career after two seasons at Saracens; a juggernaut of European club rugby.
